Schuyler School - Students in Mrs. Esparra’s class explored the fascinating world of bridges. They learned about various types, such as beam, arch, and suspension bridges. They researched the unique designs and engineering principles behind each style. After gaining inspiration from real-world examples, the students applied their newfound knowledge to design and build their own bridges using only paper. Their bridge must hold the weight of numerous pennies. As designs were tested, students adjusted their designs to make them stronger. This hands-on activity reinforced their understanding of bridge engineering using balanced forces and encouraged teamwork and problem-solving as they collaborated on their designs.
Schuyler School - Our 6th grade social studies/financial literacy classes investigated potential career paths and students created slide presentations to share with the class!
Happy Oktoberfest from Schuyler School!
Schuyler School - Our Peers helped create our very own Schuyler School Pumpkin Patch. Then our PreK students picked their own pumpkin and decorated it!
Schuyler School - Ms. DeRay's PreK class decorated pumpkins today and listened to “The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin” being read by the author, Joe Troiano. We joined them virtually through Scholastic’s Storyvoice Read Aloud author event.
Schuyler School - Ms. Twesten's class visited our pumpkin patch and then Lucas’ mom came to class to read a Halloween story and help decorate pumpkins! The students had a lot of fun!
