Garfield School Engineers proudly represented Kearny School District at NJIT's Elementary Stem Competition. The students were tasked to use a Microbit to develop a prototype of a device that enhances natural disaster preparedness, response, or recovery. They used the Engineering Design Process to complete this project in just 7 weeks.
Garfield School Engineers each took home two medals and a trophy for their school! Competing against 29 other schools, they placed Third Place in Device Design & Third Place Overall. Congratulations Izaabeth, Agustin, Gabriella, Noah, Thierry, and Victoria.

Garfield School: The annual 6th Grade Volleyball Tournament was a battle of skill, teamwork, and determination as homerooms faced off in an electrifying competition. Every serve, spike, and dive kept the crowd on edge, but in the end, it was Mrs. Gerbasio’s homeroom that emerged victorious! With fierce rallies and unstoppable energy, they claimed the championship title in an intense showdown. Congratulations to all the players for their incredible effort and sportsmanship! 🎉🏐
