Franklin School Pre-K students wrapped up their clothing study with a special visit from the Kearny Fire Department! They learned all about how the firefighter's clothing and equipment helps keep them safe and protected. Thank you KFD for a great visit!








At KHS, Mr. Vega's honors chemistry classes were busy in the workshop, crafting ornaments over the last two days using redox reactions to plate pieces of steel with copper.









Kearny High School's Glamour Gals Chapter has been very busy over the last two months! The students have painted nails, made Thanksgiving crafts, and spent time with the amazing community at Alaris Health! This past week they made and wrote holiday cards for their friends at Alaris and are looking forward to their next visit in January!



šHappy Holidays from the Kearny School District! All schools will be closed from 12/24 through 1/1/25. Schools will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd on a normal schedule.

šāØ The 10 ABA classes at Franklin School had an unforgettable Breakfast with Santa! Students enjoyed festive treats, holiday-themed crafts, and a delightful performance by the KHS Success students. Each class also created holiday decorations to deck the halls with cheer! The Franklin School Junior PEERS were fantastic elves, lending a hand to ensure every activity ran smoothly. Students also posed for pictures with Santa, courtesy of the Kearny Optimist Club. Huge thanks to Mrs. Klein and Mrs. Best for organizing this magical event. The students had a wonderful time creating memories with friends and are officially in the holiday spirit! āļøš

Congratulations to the winners of Kearny School District's first-ever iReady reading contest! Students from each of our elementary schools participated in "12 Days of iReady," competing for the title of "top performing" class in each grade level by having the most passed lessons. Great job, readers!






Kearny High School student Analyse Armstrong recently self-published her own book! The Nucleus, a collection of poems inspired by Ms. Armstrongās own life and creative mind was written over the course of the last few years and is illustrated by a talented friend. We know this is the first of many accomplishments of this nature for Analyse - congratulations! The Nucleus is available for sale on Amazon.



The Kearny High School REACH club worked in conjunction with the Kearny Salvation Army to organize a successful Giving Tree event, and would like to thank the generous staff and many students who took home tags to donate Christmas gifts to local children. We REACHED 80 families this year! Happiest of Holidays and thank you for your support!

At Franklin School, Ms. De Matos and Ms. Hinostroza's math class has ornamentally solved their order of operation problems and is ready for to spend their winter holiday with family and friends. Happy Holidays! š






In honor of World Wildlife Conservation Day, the Lincoln Middle School EcoSchools cohort visited Garfield School's second graders to engage in a vibrant coloring activity. The LMS students crafted coloring books made from hand-drawn sketches of endangered species. Special thanks to Mrs. Cristalli for coordinating this event!š¼š











Franklin School's preschoolers are learning all about trees! They enjoyed a beautiful nature walk as they played and collected parts of a tree.š³š³










The Title I Family Engagement team hosted their monthly event at Washington School for November. Families came together to celebrate being thankful for one another. Everyone participated in hands on learning activities and even got to build a turkey snack. Fun was had by all!


At Franklin School, Ms. De Matos and Ms. Hinostrozaās students expressed Thanksgiving gratitude with a Build a Turkey exercise! The students solved an equation and wrote 6 different representations on the turkey's feathers!






At Franklin School, Ms. Klein's class is thankful for many things. The students were able to use their communication devices and tell us "Happy Thanksgiving!"
