Students in Ms. Seeley's and Ms. Gallagher's Second grade class are busy practicing their Spelling words. Students used flashlights to search for all the hidden words and practiced reading them. Great job everyone!









The Garfield School Student Liaison Committee met with Leslie Schmidt and Alex Rosenberg from Pomptonian Food Services to voice their opinions and ideas on school meals.





The 6th grade Peers from Garfield School dedicated their time during this year's PTA Trunk or Treat! Thanks for your help!

This week at Garfield School the students in Miss Gallagher’s Reading Class learned about words with Vowel-Consonant E. Today they played Bingo to demonstrate their knowledge and ability to read Vowel-Consonant E words.

At Garfield School, Mrs. Lonnay's 6th grade ELA classes finished reading the novel Bud, Not Buddy. Students completed several projects such as creating a postcard or diary entry from a character's point of view, developing a comic strip, or comparing characters and themes within the novel. Students were excited to share their work!








Garfield School announced their October Kind Cookies! These students were all caught being kind this month! Congratulations and keep spreading kindness!


Garfield School held a Read for the Record event for our Kindergarten students. Former Kearny educator, Camille Burns, has coordinated volunteer readers from the Women's Club of Arlington to visit the Kindergarten classrooms in the morning to read a book to our students.






This week at Garfield School students are becoming worm experts! The Hudson County Improvement Authority presents fun facts about worms and information about composting. Students enjoyed taking a close look at worms living in their environment.





This week at Garfield School, the 4th and 5th graders in music class had their first lesson playing ukulele. They learned how to decode ukulele tab symbols and played their first three chords!




At Garfield School, Mrs. Gerbasio's 6th grade science classes were testing the quality of their pond water. Students are learning about ecosystems and habitats, including ponds, built by the students.
