Students in the Franklin School MD program enjoyed a visit to LifeTown, a fully inclusive and accessible center designed to provide hands-on learning experiences. From learning about healthy eating habits and the importance of good oral hygiene to practical life skills such as a trip to Shop Rite, loading the dryer and riding bikes around town, the visit provided a safe space for students to learn and grow in a fun and supportive environment.

Franklin School: In Mrs. Janz's enrichment after-school club, The Wellness Lab, students came up with the idea to start a kindness chain. Staff and students completed links and over the last two months, the club worked to put the chain together and celebrate all the kind things that have been happening at Franklin School. The chain reached 162 links and is being proudly displayed at our Spring Concert.

🏆📚🧠 Select sixth graders from each school in the Kearny District recently competed in the Hudson County Gifted & Talented Academic Bowl! Students put their knowledge to the test, answering questions on literature, science, math, culture, and more. Students in Mrs. Curry’s KEEP Class at Garfield School showed off their technological know-how at the school’s STEM Fair.

Students in grades 3-6 collaborated to create inventions designed to engage, inspire, and make everyday life a little more efficient. From coding with Twister, to a sip counter, to a mood-tracking lullaby stuffie, Garfield’s young innovators demonstrated creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving at every turn. 💡✨

Due to the NJ Primary Election Day on June 2, 2026, all schools will operate on a single session schedule. Students in grades PreK-12 will be dismissed at 12:54pm.

Franklin School: Our PreK students got a special preview of kindergarten today! 🍎🥪 They practiced eating lunch in the cafeteria just like the big kids as they get ready for their exciting next step next year. We are so proud of how grown up they are becoming! ❤️
