š On Autism Acceptance Day, Franklin School Students proudly wore blue to commemorate the dedication of the Michelle Sammaro Memorial Playground, which was built after tireless fundraising efforts by Heather Klein and Cathy Pedinha. Principal Cali and ABA instructor Heather Klein shared heartfelt speeches, and the Sammaro family honored their mother's legacy. Joined by Kearny City Councilwoman DeCastro, as well as Councilmen Ficeto and Zapata, and Mayor Carole Jean Doyle, Board of Education Member Viscuso, and our Administration, the event symbolized unity and support for our special education students. This playground will be a cherished space of inclusivity and joy for our Franklin School community. š #AutismAcceptance #InclusionCommunity
šš A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined in for the KHS REACH-Success Scavenger Hunt! Our kids had a blast exploring and connecting with their favorite teachers and important offices. Beginning our adventure with "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" set the perfect tone, as each mission lead them to different parts of our school, just like in the book. It was a joy to see them navigate and make new friends along the way! #REACHSuccess #ScavengerHuntFun š

Following the hike, the students were bused to the Washington Headquarters Museum in Morristown where they were able to view historical artifacts from the period, watch interactive videos, and read historical information related to the period. The trip was chaperoned by teachers Michael Bayer, Trish Hoehe, and counselor Dorian Fasciano.
