Schuyler School - Second grade Black History Month activity.
Students created vibrant collages representing the Jazz and Blues era in Black History. Students created lined drawings of various Jazz instruments and created a collage highlighting some of the best artists of all time. As students were working, the class listened to music by Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, and Ray Charles. We discussed the many barriers these artists had to break through, and how powerful and beautiful their music was and still is today! They had a great time!

Schuyler School - Ms. Rocha's first grade class made a special presentation celebrating our 100th day of school. All the students wrote about what they would do if today was their 100th birthday and then took of picture of themselves as if they were 100!

Schuyler School - after finishing a unit on clothing our PreK students had a chance to see in person the uniforms of our policemen and firemen. Special thanks to our Kearny Police Department and Kearny Fire Department. The kids loved it!

Schuyler School - Mr. Ferreira taught Pre-K about the protective gear worn when working on vehicles! During our virtual field trip to New Body Collision he showed our students his garage and his employees removing dents, sanding and painting vehicles while wearing different protective equipment.

Schuyler School - As a Clothing Study Celebration, Schuyler School Pre-K had a special visit from Dr. Jill Pedalino, Pediatrician and the owner of Healthy Kids Pediatrics. She discussed what it’s like to be a doctor and how her uniform and tools keep her and those around her healthy! She read both of her books, “The Universe is Listening” and "You Are Abundant". These stories empower children to discover happiness through the power of gratitude and deliberately creating a positive environment. Our Pre-K students really enjoyed learning from Dr. Jill!
