Schuyler School - The students in Mrs. Ferreira's class have learned all about apple trees and apple picking as part of our Tree Study. In our classroom, Ferreira Farms is up and running! Students are able to pick the apples and bring them to the market to ring them up and buy other fall treats. We even learned the steps to make an apple pie!

Schuyler School - Ms. Avino's Prek class had their first Mystery Reader. Thank you so much to Kristie's mom and dad for coming to read 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' to the class. They even gave them their own butterflies to take home. They had so much fun listening to the story!

Schuyler School - Yesterday Ms. Avino's PreK class went outside to learn about the parts of the tree in correspondence with the question of the day for the tree study. We discussed the different parts of a tree and had the chance to point / touch the different parts of a tree as well.
Schuyler School - Mrs. O’Malley’s third grade class is studying plant life cycles, seeds and seed dispersal in their science class. Today they made “helicopter seeds” and tested them out. The kids also came up with ideas on how to improve the way their helicopter seeds could fly.
Schuyler School is still celebrating Week of Respect with an amazing assembly. Dr. Mykee Fowlin is an actor, psychologist and storyteller. Through his acting and storytelling Dr. Fowling took the students on a journey of how to be accepting of others, respectful of each other and realize that you are not alone.
Schuyler School - Ms DeRay's PreK class made Gingerbread Play-doh and went on a hunt for the Gingerbread Man yesterday! It was an extra special Fun Friday

Schuyler School - Week of Respect - Day 5
Students wore tie dye or peace signs to show we enjoy a peaceful school where everyone respects each other.
This year the Schuyler school Physical Education classes started a Jump Rope Club and a Plank Club that will run throughout the school year. Both clubs are offered to all students in grades 3-6, with a goal of improving your score each week by increasing the time they can hold themselves in plank position or the length of time they can continuously jump rope without stopping. Both clubs have really taken off with the students challenging themselves as well as their classmates each week in friendly competition.
