Schuyler School - Students in Mrs. Esparra’s class explored the fascinating world of bridges. They learned about various types, such as beam, arch, and suspension bridges. They researched the unique designs and engineering principles behind each style. After gaining inspiration from real-world examples, the students applied their newfound knowledge to design and build their own bridges using only paper. Their bridge must hold the weight of numerous pennies. As designs were tested, students adjusted their designs to make them stronger. This hands-on activity reinforced their understanding of bridge engineering using balanced forces and encouraged teamwork and problem-solving as they collaborated on their designs.

Schuyler School - Our 6th grade social studies/financial literacy classes investigated potential career paths and students created slide presentations to share with the class!

Happy Oktoberfest from Schuyler School!

Schuyler School - Our Peers helped create our very own Schuyler School Pumpkin Patch. Then our PreK students picked their own pumpkin and decorated it!

Schuyler School - Ms. DeRay's PreK class decorated pumpkins today and listened to “The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin” being read by the author, Joe Troiano. We joined them virtually through Scholastic’s Storyvoice Read Aloud author event.

Schuyler School - Ms. Twesten's class visited our pumpkin patch and then Lucas’ mom came to class to read a Halloween story and help decorate pumpkins! The students had a lot of fun!

Schuyler School - What a great trip to meet the new baby ducks!

Schuyler School - Today our kindergarten classes enjoyed a special visit from members of the Women's Club of Arlington. They read the story "Piper Chen Sings" to our students as part of our Read for the Record Day and they gave each class and our library a copy of the book!

Schuyler School - Special thanks to the Kearny Fire Department for sharing the Firefighter Phil assembly with our students to teach them about fire safety!

Schuyler School - Today we all wore orange to show our unity for anti-bullying!

Schuyler School - Ms.Avino’s Pre-k class went on a leaf hunt. On our hunt we talked about the different shapes and sizes leaves are and all the different colors that leaves change to. We also discussed why leaves fall off the trees in fall. We had so much fun searching for leaves!

Schuyler School - This morning Ms.DeRay's PreK class visited Mrs. Bernal’s music class to learn more about Percussion Instruments! She introduced our students to a variety of instruments: xylophone, drums, cymbals, bongos, egg shakers, cabasa, maracas and so much more! Our Pre-K class loved getting to play each instrument and hear the different sounds each instrument makes. Music to our ears!

Schuyler School - Our Fourth grade ESL students learned about energy and energy transfer. They experimented to observe how mechanical energy could be transferred from the more massive tennis ball to the smaller, lighter ping-pong ball, causing the ping-pong ball to bounce much higher into the air.

Schuyler School - Everyone had so much fun at our annual PTA Trunk or Treat!!
