Percussion Workshop at Schuyler School: On Tuesday, November 26, an exciting event took place at Schuyler School. Mr. Pamaar, along with the talented members of the KHS Drumline, facilitated a Percussion Workshop for the Pre-K classes. This engaging and educational workshop perfectly aligned with the percussion unit that the Pre-K classes have been exploring. The workshop was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Mr. Pamaar and Christina DeRay. Their dedication ensured that the young students of Schuyler School could experience the thrill and rhythm of percussion instruments firsthand. Special shout out to the building principal, Mrs. Iacono for her constant support of the Music and Art programs and allowing the group to visit Schuyler School! The KHS Drumline, consisting of six talented students, played a pivotal role in bringing the workshop to life. From right to left, the members are: • Jayden Rodriguez • Persia Lozano • Camila Bedoya • Cecelia Rodriguez • Joseph Gallegos • Mauricio Gomez These students not only showcased their drumming skills but also shared their knowledge, making the workshop both educational and entertaining for the young learners. The Pre-K students had a wonderful experience interacting with the drumline. They were introduced to various percussion instruments and rhythms, enhancing their understanding of music and rhythm in a fun and interactive manner. A special thanks goes out to Mr. Pamaar and his dedicated students for their generosity in sharing their time and talents. Their efforts have left a positive and lasting impression on the young minds at Schuyler School. Overall, the Percussion Workshop was a resounding success, inspiring a new generation of young musicians and fostering a love for music in the Pre-K students

KHS: Ms. Goodlad's Public Speaking Class presented their demonstration speeches on an array of fun topics that engaged the whole class, from Building the Parts of a Computer to Fortune Teller and Batman Origami. Other students made delicious sentimental recipes that have been passed down from their family members. Students were considerate of their classmates' dietary needs. They did an amazing job collaborating and supporting one another.

KHS: The 2024/2025 Field Trip to Rutgers Newark On November 21st, the Planet Earth class made their 4th annual field trip to the Earth and Space Science Department at Rutgers Newark University. The class learned about a research project testing particulates in the air around Newark Airport, the NJ Turnpike and the port. Students participated in a brainstorming activity with the Newark Geoscience Ecosystem Department. They identified and addressed issues that affect urban ecosystems. A favorite with everyone this year was the Greenhouse in Plant Sciences, where students were introduced to aromatic plants, succulents, and carnivorous plants. We topped off the day with the annual Oil Game, where students learned about finding oil and gas, and what oil companies have to do to make a profit. Two teams tied with a $28 million dollar profit each. Once again, Rutgers welcomed us and provided us with both an educational and an entertaining day.
