Yesterday we celebrated 💯 Days of school at Washington School!!
The Pre-K students at Washington are exploring Cameras. We welcomed Vice Principal Mr. Ruiz, an avid photographer, who shared various types of cameras that people can use. We even had the opportunity to see a drone in action!
Washington LLD classes had a ‘Glow Social’ where they participated in activities such as crown making, painting, car racing, temporary tattoos, STEM challenges, and a dance party! We worked on our communication, pragmatic, fine motor, and gross motor skills! A special shoutout to the LLD6 Snack Shop for sponsoring this event!
Washington School 6th graders were treated to a Valentine’s Day Dance today! Thank you to Ms. Stephens for putting this event together and special thanks to Mr. Hempel for the photo booth!

Washington School was able to donate SEVEN crates of food through our Souper Bowl Food Drive! Students were entered into a raffle for School Bucks for each item donated, here are some of our winners!
PS - According to our food donation count, Washington thinks the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl!
Washington School had our first ever Souper Bowl Games for our 3rd through 6th graders. Mr. Ruiz did a fantastic job hosting the event!!
The students participated in a football themed spelling bee, trivia, and were randomly selected to participate in a football toss to earn School Bucks. Staff did a great job too! They competed against the students in trivia and we had some VERY brave teachers participate in blindfolded musical chairs. After all was said and done, 4th grade took the crown at the games.
We can’t wait for our next Souper Bowl Games!

📣 Due to the anticipated weather conditions, the Kearny School District will follow a delayed opening schedule tomorrow, Thursday, February 6.
🔔 PreK through grade six will arrive at 10:00am and grades seven through twelve will arrive at 9:50 am.
⚠️ There will be no Right at School morning care.

Mrs. Hill’s 6th grade Social Studies class from Washington learned about the Nile River and presented their projects today!
The 6th grade LLD students joined KHS Success classes for a hands-on Life Skills event, learning essential tasks like doing laundry and making a quick meal. Huge thanks to our amazing teachers and aides for making this experience so meaningful!
